Charged My Old Bank Account Instead of New Card

I recently bought an item off eBay and used my PayPal account to pay. I had not used it in a while, and the bank account they had on file was old, and I had left it without any money. I first removed my old bank account using their website. Then I entered my new credit card information, made the new card my primary means of payment, and made the purchase, selecting the new card as the payment method.

Somehow, PayPal charged the old bank account, causing me to become overdrawn and racking up several overdraft fees, to the tune of 51.73. I called PayPal and explained the situation, and the best answer they had for me was basically that I was a liar. They insisted that I had not taken my old credit card or bank account off, and there was nothing they could do.

This was their mistake, and it cost me money, but they took the attitude that I did not matter, that there was no way they could have made a mistake, and that I was lying. I do not want anything from PayPal except for them to call the bank and explain the error, but they would not do that. So I advise you all out there to think twice before using PayPal.
