This last october my wife and I were informed that MSN and QWEST (phone carrier) were going to merge and we would be getting either migrated to there dsl service or, we could opt to open a new account from MSN DSL. I mistakenly and foolishly chose the latter. After a couple months of fun with QWEST I was finnally refered to MSN customer support. To give you some perspective on this experience, I would rather dine with a party of 12 QWEST customer reps... Eating food i didn't like... And naked as a jay bird, before I would ask an MSN Cutomer Service Rep a simple mindless question.in 4 Months we have been unable to get an answer as to why we haven't gotten there proprietary modem (which we later found out wasn't needed because our DSL2100 would have worked just as well) or why we can't make the modem we do have work. We have actually been told TWICE that the modem was in shipping waiting to be sent only to be told a week later that they can't even find a DSL account for us. The worst part is that we have had to do all the legwork to try to find out why this can happen and as of this writing we still don't know. My Wife is finishing her Degree at ASU in computer science information and she went to download a program from the internet (remember dial up) and it said it would take 2 1/2 hours. The net disconnected before it could be downloaded. We have been spoiled by DSL and now we pay, pay, pay. My last call was 12 days ago. A chipper little gal told me that this matter was being forwarded to some investigative dept for """enhanced review"""" (DA DA). I even told the representative that I was having more fun watching the ineptness of one of the biggest companies in the country and added that "although I believe you do think something will be done, I can give you the Miss Cleo on what's going to be done. Nothing, NADA not a peep from the chuckleheads at MSN. Are we suprised? NOOOO. 4 months to get service activated that we already had with Qwest for 10 months prior hmmmmmm. Now I'm no expert, buttttt I'm guessing that support slower then an old russian toilet paer line... Falls welllll below industry standards... Ya Think. It get's even more goofy when I get my bill from Qwest and MSN is charging us for the dial-up connection (we were only supposed to have it a month according to them) that we have never requested. I just haven't had the heart to crush some little 19 year olds visions of corporate big boy softies like microsoft (and her subsidieries "K"). Actually I just found out DirectTV offers the service in our area now. So I'm just waiting to see if if MSN (my homepage, seriously) will ever even see this mistake. I own two PC's and a desktop 2 of which are DELL (has a contract with microsoft) and I've had no complaints. I use and enjoy MSN homepage and of course Microsoft has created some of the greatest software ever. Ironically they have given me the ability to slam them publicly with an effiecincy previously unheard of. So Billy Gates if you ever listen any more... Don't forget about us little guys just trying to make a go at the same dream you achieved. Were all made to feel like numbers once in awhile but geez... At least treat us like a zero MSN. Lovingly DSL down and dirty in the desert
