Dr. Kornhaber, Credit Administration Aetna sent me to collections did not file insurance claim ripoff

I went to this Dr. A couple of years ago to get a pre-surgery evaluation. I gave them my insurance information and assumed everything would be fine. That is until a couple of years later I checked my credit report and saw a collections action from Credit Administration. Well, I disputed the item, credit agency got back to me and said it was valid. I called the "Credit Administration" and they said it was from this Dr. I never paid. Never received a collection letter or anything. I asked for a copy of the bill. They said I had to sign a release and fax it to them. I did this. Never to this day have received a copy of the bill. Equifax refuses to take this off. The Dr. Has since retired and I am unable to contact him to see if he ever bothered to file a claim with the insurance. Although I know they would have paid since they paid for my $10,000 surgery, why not a $300.00 pre surgery screening? Also, the people that worked in his office were very rude and probably forgot to fill out the paperwork. They used to yell at the sick patients in the waiting room. Which is why I stopped going there in the first place. Aetna has now closed the division under which I used to be insured, so I am unable to see if a payment was ever made so that I could pursue legal action against the dr. I don't even want to start on how bad Aetna has gone downhill in the recent years. A lot of doctors in my area are dropping them. Save yourself the headache and don't ever sign up with them!
