Early Termination Fees and 30 day Advance Notification

The early termination fee is a ripoff. The judicial system in California just ruled against those kinds of charges for cell phone contracts so all of the businesses that charge those fees are soon to come under scrutiny. The problem is they don't allow for circumstances such as long-term illness or injury. I haven't been able to workout for 7 months due to chronic sinus infections, subsequent sinus surgery, and now a torn rotator cuff. But the $250 they've collected from me while NOT using their facilities wasn't enough - they now want the early termination fee and a penalty fee for no 30 day advance notice.
