I received this response to a job posting on craigs list.

This is a Office Assistant Position, Working hours are from 8am-3pm, Monday-Friday. The starting pay is $24.75 / hr for this Office Assistant Position, you are also expected to come online through Yahoo Messenger during working hours.

I want you to setup a yahoo messenger and if you got one already use it, Add Mrs Holly Champion the Hiring Manager and IM her on this ID (hiringoffice03@yahoo.com) asap for the interview/briefing and comprehensive job details. This is our first step to proceed further. She will be on online waiting for you.interview Schedule date/time is on Monday 3rd of DEC @8am to 3pm..

This was followed up by an on line interview where a request was made for me to deposit a check (prior to working for them) to purchase accounting software, and set up a shipping port to receive equipment. The interview was ostensibly done by a woman named Holly Champion. There were many words misspelled and poor English, grammar and punctuation used. Upon research, there is no phone number to contact anyone, and there is no data from an incorporation of the company. The request was made that I come on line the next day at 8am and would then be put in contact a supervisor. When I did not log on to yahoo messenger I received a text message on my phone "hello are u there?". When I voiced my reticence to continue the response was "i have belived that you don't want to work again" (sic). I responded that I would love to work for a reputable company, their response was "Have a good day since you doubting us". Please be advised to avoid this scam.
