Lens Doctor - Cricket Productions
Total ripoff on shipping and hard to deal with folks in India

Health & Medicine

I ordered Lensdoctor 2 weeks ago, hoping to delay having to buy new eye glasses for awhile (I am on Social Security and glasses are very expensive—more than I can afford right now even though I need them). I placed the order on-line.

This morning at 0800, I got a call from a computer telling me there was a problem with my order and to please call an 800 number. I did and was connected with someone in India who did not give his name and whose English leaves much to be desired, except for the words "Be on hold". He told me my credit card was no good and my order was going to be cancelled. He refused to tell me which card or what the problem was. I asked for a supervisor and was given to "Jeff" (not and Indian name). He told me the card number and I saw the problem immediately. The "last 4 digits" were not the last for digits but the next to last 4. Their computer or printer had not printed the entire number. Even though I am very afraid of giving my number to someone outside the US, I corrected the number.

I then asked about the expedited shipping I had paid for. I finally had to ask for someone in the US after being told to "Be on hold" every time I asked a question. This woman I was finally connected to told me that it meant that instead of waiting 6 weeks for them to proscess the order, they would do it in 4. I stated that it had already been 2 weeks and that I do not consider that expeditious. If there were a problem, I should have been contacted within days, not weeks. She said "you weren't charged, so you have nothing to complain about". She totally didn't listen. She insisted that until the card is charged, the order didn't exist and that is when the clock starts on the "rapid shipping". I told her that this is NOT what the internet site said and she said "really? I don't know what it says but I do know it is plainly written on the tv ad."

Now I see that this is a usual problem and also see there are problems with vision after using the product (which I also cannot afford).

I asked for the name of the President of the company and for information about how to contact him/her. They gave me an address but would not give me the name of a person to contact. I called and was told to talk to Laura "after 2:00P.M. When she returns from lunch" (It was 8:45 A.M. Here in AZ, 3 hours behind, which means Laura is taking lunch from 11:30 until 2:00 in MA).

And yes, I do have a huge problem with companies that move jobs from the US to India. I'm not racist, I just believe in being a good American and will no longer do any kind of business with this company.
