I visited the Greenville NC store on December 6 hoping to exchange an online item that I received. The reason for the exchange-the item arrived in a damaged box and I feared pieces may have gotten lost in shipping. I immediately contacted the store and informed them that I purchased the item online and quoted the price but the box was damaged and I wanted to exchange it. The associate I spoke with on 12-5 stated sure that can be an even exchange. I asked the associate did they have the item in stock and the associate asked me to read off the dcpi number from the order form-086-02-2738. She then replied that there was 5 left. The next day 12-6 I arrive at the Greenville Nc store for my exchange. The cashier was having problems scanning the store item and asked assistance from store manager Renee. Renee scanned the item and told me there would be a price diffrence and I ask why. I was then trying to explain that I have already spoke to an associate who stated that it would be an even exchange and Renne interrupts me, even rolling her eyes. She states well there is nothing else I can do you got to call Target guest Services. I reply what is the number? Renee writes down the number on my invoice smirking. I call guest services and I did manage to get my item exchanged evenly. Upon leaving the associate asks Renne so what do I do with the damaged boxed item Renee states loudly. Put it back on the floor there is nothing wrong with it as if my concerns about the item I spend my hard earned money on doesnt matter. Again I did get my item exchanged as an even exchange and I am happy about that but the service I received today was absolutely terrible. Target you need to employ compassionate, helpful people unlike this Renee character she makes you want to spend money elsewhere. I'd much rather spend the extra money to receive good customer service.
