We went to the Brick Clearance Center and asked the sales person that we were looking for a vent-less washer / dryer combo (as our condo does not have venting) The sales guy (Essay) immediately found one for us on site. We inspected the unit (Indesit) and asked the sales guy to confirm if it was a combo unit.

He was adamant that it was - the manual was missing - but the tag description said it was a combo unit.

We had been looking around for a while and we could not believe our luck. We bought it. The invoice states it is a combo washer/dryer.
We were renovating so the item went into storage for a few months. When the we took it out of storage we discovered it was the wrong item it was just a washer. I called them - my word was not good enough they wanted a service man to come out and take a look.

That took a month.

Once the service guy inspected the unit it is just a washer...

Contacted the Brick again and was told that we should come in and get our refund in full that day - what a lie.

We arrived there only to be told that they have to get the machine back on premises. We don't have a car - so we had to wait for them to come fetch the machine. Fine - I could call them once they received the machine to get a refund done on my credit card.

They collected the machine the next day.

I called them - they cannot accept my credit card - I explained that it is a reissued card as my old one expired - no - it has to be the same one used at time of purchase (even if it was re-issued). Ridiculous...

I now have to wait another 2 weeks for a cheque from them.

We are never buying from the Brick again
the sales people are incompetent - the admin personnel are worse. Even on the credit note they still made a mistake: "product labelled in store as washer dryer, however label was incorrect, just dryer..."
