Shen Zhen, Exquis Lack of Support for Peel520 2nd Gen

Peel520.net makes this claim, "Once the proper software is installed, the Apple Peel 520 adds the ability to make voice calls and send and receive text messages on your iPod Touch." They say that their software will work on OS 5.0.1, which I am using.

I bought this device expecting it to live up to their claims. They claim it will make calls and have SMS functioning (as well as an embedded FM radio). I have only been able to get the calling to work. When the SMS app is selected, it crashes immediately. I have tried the sporadic fixes that they have offered but none work to correct these serious problems. They keep saying that they are working on a fix, and claim: "We strive to offer you the latest updates and software for the Yosion Peel 520 as soon as possible. Unlike sketchy other resellers, we work hard so that you can relax, sit back and enjoy our top-quality device!"

But that has not been my experience with this company.instead of working on a fix for generation 2, they have released a newer version (Generation 3) which is supposed to fix the problems. They explain: "Support on the Generation 2 hasn't stopped but it has slowed down to support the development 3rd Gen Peel." So those who paid for the same functionality in the 2nd gen, will have to either wait longer to get what was promised to them in the 2nd gen version (if ever) or spend another $119 to (perhaps) get it gen 3.

This appear to be a situation of colossal incompetence, false advertising, or both.

By the way, I later bought another product from a more competent company, the Raisoo Peel T4 (at about half the price), and it does everything they say it will do (makes calls, does SMS & has GPRS functioning), so I know that these things are possible to do if you are dealing with a company that actually offers support after it sells the product.
