Electronics and household app.
On 2/13/03 I purchased an HP Multifunction 2210xi printer for $227.46. Fifteen months later the power supply is defective and an authorized service center has quoted me a repair price of $100 to replace the power supply. Once the power supply is replaced, I have been told that there is a possibility that the board may also be defective.
I sent this information to HP's customer service and have been told via several exchanges of email that my warranty has expired. I was offered upgrade information and was required to send the serial number from the back of the unit. Now I am being told that I do not have the correct serial number, am being refused service and that I should just get it fixed. Repairs could cost me the original price of the machine. This is unacceptable.
On 7/20/03, I purchased a Photosmart 320 digital camera for $129.95. The camera has a flaw in the design and it will not hold in the batteries. This renders the camera inoperable and now I am stuck with a camera that does not work after only ten months of usage. I have had several emails from customer service and am frustrated that they will not honor the one year warranty on the camera. I have been told by customer service that I must pay a fee for the repair at another service center, when my warranty states HP will repair or replace my defective camera for free. This is also unacceptable business practice.
In I spent $407.41 for HP products that are now worthless and inoperable.in my experience, HP produces substandard products and does not stand by their products or warranties.
