Out of Control Faxing Service Fees!

Attention: Never use OFFICE MAX's Faxing service or prepared to be "Ripped OFF!"

I went to this OfficeMax with the intention of faxing an important legal document that totaled 9 pages. The service associate was nice in helping me fax the paperwork. Once the fax was complete, I was asked to pay for the service. This is where I GOT RIPPED-OFF.

She said the total for faxing 9 PAGES was $16.73!!!

Now, I quickly thought she was joking.in fact, I asked her three times if she was serious. She reacted sharply by telling me that this has been their pricing structure for the last three years.

They literally charge $1.75 per page to make a fax!!! I was blown away because it only cost $10 cents to make a copy but $1.75 to fax? Does this make sense?

I paid for the service and was told to contact customer service if I wanted to complain. I did just that. The customer service rep "couldn't help me" and justified the cost of using their expensive fax service by saying the company needed to "cover" the cost of thier fax machine, ink, toner, telephone services, etc. That is just insane, my $16.73 receipt probably covered the entire cost of their used fax machine.

I asked if she could submit a complaint form to corporate and recommended they lower their fees; however, after getting my name and email, she told me to have a nice day. It's looking very unlikely that corporate will contact me...

In an age when folks are living frugal and trying to make ends meet, this company has the audacity to charge ridiculous charges for such a service.

Boycott OFFICE MAX and save the middle class...
