FedEx Kinkos
Fax to San Jose Called Local, Then Cover Page Charged

Miscellaneous

Let me share my experience and feel better about it. I have stifled my opinions for too long, and now I am going to find my voice. I went to one Kinko's in Warm Springs, Fremont, CA, where I got a bad vibe more than once from one representative. I was not imagining or assuming it, because his way of talking to me was also rude, and I just asked to talk to his supervisor. I suspect racism, and I am not surprised by it in the society here, which I was born and brought up in.

Today I went to the Kinko's on Mowry to avoid that rude employee. A careless driver who did not look while reversing bumped my Mercedes bumper. Why does everyone always hit my car? At least he was courteous enough to give me his insurance information, and I copied his license plate, but I have had another hit and run on the back of my car TWO TIMES without people leaving me their information.

Back to Kinko's. I entered this Kinko's and told the representative I was faxing to San Jose and asked if that was LOCAL. She said yes. I asked how much it would cost, and she gave me the wrong prices, because it turned out to be LONG DISTANCE. Then she FORCED me to put on a COVER PAGE, and it turned out they charged me for the COVER PAGE. I told her to reverse the charges because she had given me the wrong pricing and they had charged me for the cover page. She said they always reverse the cover pages and "I know how to do my job." Okay, lady, no one is questioning whether you know how to do your job, but you surely need to tell your customers the right information when they ask questions, like how much it is going to cost to fax to San Jose from this Fremont office and whether or not the cover page is free. I am so tired of meeting people who do not know the answers to questions and are just trying to make their minimum wage.

Not only that, after she reversed the charges, when she tried to help me fax it, I told her the machine was not taking one page at a time but swallowing all pages at once. She was FORCING ME TO FAX all the pages even though the first two had gone through. She had reversed the charges, so it was none of her business how many pages I faxed now; she should just have helped me put the fax through. Then she argued that she was going to charge me again for those two. I said no, it is okay. Firstly, the cover page was not free, and she said, "the cover page charge is always reversed I have been working here forever." Take your insecure, classless attitude to someone else; do not put it on me.

So I left and went to UPS. AND UPS WAS $4.50 for six pages! Not a rip off! AND THE EMPLOYEE DID IT FOR ME. I DID NOT HAVE TO STRUGGLE WITH A BAD MACHINE.

I have vented here, and then I went home and saw something on TV about how I am supposed to not gossip, see the bigger picture, and not be narrow-minded. I know all that, but sometimes, if you do not vent, such people get to you. Sigh of relief.
