Refuse to fix product

Greetings
We had been using our new 50" Samsung plasma TV for 5 weeks, all of the sudden while we're watching TV a loud noise comes out of it and a line starts appearing on the screen. It turned out to be a crack on the panel, but in the inside. The TV is not even mounted, we didn't touch it, didn't do anything to it and had been sitting there for 5 weeks. A Tech sent by Samsung looked at it and specify to Samsung that there was no external damage, not a a scratch... NOTHING, still they refuse cover the TV becaused they say we damaged the TV... HOW??? By watching tv??? I've also seen a few posts on different websites about other people experiencing the same issue.
Samsung basically called me a liar and said that cracks (even internal) happen only because of physical damage, which they have no way of proving or explaining.
We're losing the $1500 we spend on the TV because of a product defect and they're acting like there are no laws.
