Bought Phillips TV But Box Held Used Insignia TV

I just purchased a Phillips 47" lcd tv from Walmart here in Miami FL. I take it home, open the box and find a brand tv I've never heard of "insignia". And the tv looks slightly used. I took it back to the store and they are giving me all kinds of h*ll. The price difference is not huge but the fact is I didn't pay for that tv! I paid for a Phillips. I read a report of something similar happening to someone on this site with an ipod. How is this even possible!
I figure someone brought it and switched out the contents, but aren't the contents checked when an item is returned? I suppose if the returner made it looked unopened they probably wouldn't open the box to check, am I right? This happened to me today, of course they won't refund or exchange, Walmart doesn't even sell this brand! How does something this big slip through the cracks! I know what I have to do, so I'm not really worried about it, I guess I'm just amazed at Walmart's stupidity!
