Rip off and possible credit card fraud

After spending 40 minutes on the phone with the sales guy from this New York "online" camera company and painstakingly selecting the products I wanted to purchase I found out the next day that I had to fax my credit card, signature, and drivers license in order to complete the transaction.

After speaking on the phone with the representative they said it appeared as though my order came from a "phishing" site even though I ordered it over the phone. Nice try!

When I offered to start over and provide a different credit card for the order they said I would still need to fax over all that information.in all my years of ordering things online I have never had to do this and the reason they gave appears to be bogus.

Even if the reason they gave is true then why would anyone take this kind of a risk by having all of their personal information and everything required to commit fraud on my credit card existing on a portable document? They did not even once try to find another way to solve this problem and put me through several calls and emails to end up getting no where. The lady on the phone basically said "if you want your $700 camera then its my way or the highway".

As a result of trusting the sales guy's word and this company it is now too late to order a camera for an important event my family is attending.

At worst possible credit card fraud and at the very least poor security procedures, over promissing, under delivering, and awful service.

Do not ever use these jerks.
