431 dollars for 36 hours of service with Directv

I arranged for Directv to establish service at my home.

Service was installed on Friday afternoon, Jan 16

I called Sunday morning, Jan 18 to have the service cancelled. I cannot afford it and my wife cannot make heads or tails to the service.

They informed me that the 24 hr grace period had expired and that I would be obligated for the early cancellation fee. I told them that I wasn't going to pay it and that it shouldn't be enforced for little more than 36 hours of total service. Services were disconnected via their system on Monday, Jan 19.

On Monday, 26th. I was looking at my finances and found that they had charged me 431 dollars for the early termination fee. I called the "Customer Service" office and got pretty irate, which I know didn't do me any favors. I talked to three different people and they all said pretty much the same thing... That the charge was valid and they could not nor would not reverse the charge. I asked if anyone in the company had the capability to reverse the charges and I was told no.
