Office Depot
Don't buy PPP Contract

Electronics and household app.

I too have been ripped off by office depot. I purchased a Toshiba T400 mp3 player. The salesperson just raved about how important it was to keep my player in working condition and buying a performance protection plan would be the best way.

For the price of the player I paid $14.99 and it was supposed to cover anything that happens to the player—then the sales person said "it doesn't matter what goes wrong with the player, if it stops working just call them and you will get a refund for the merchandise. You don't even have to send the merchandise back—they don't want your damaged stuff back—just let them know and they trust you and will send you your refund automatically. I tried this because the player I purchased was not turning off—just stayed on all the time.

By the time I talked to a real person, all they said was that the player was covered by the manufacturer warranty of one year and I would have to pursue the matter through them before I could actually file a claim under the ppp warranty plan. After spending coutless time on the phone, I gave up trying and am out my $14.99 and the price for the player which was $59.99. Because Office Depot will not take the player back.
