Steinhausen / No repair or refund after proving item was under warranty. Home office in CA doesn't care either

STAY away from this company!

I sent 3 nice emails and a phone call within 4 wks to DAVE LONG requesting a repair of a watch winder box still under warranty. AFTER weeks of no response I sent a nasty email 15 times to voice my frustration.

FINALLY this motivates DAVE to email me. Giving me 3 B/S excuses on why he did not get back to me in over a month and then telling me how terrible I am for giving my opinion of his broken product and lack of a response. He then offers to look into the warranty if I provide the necessary documents (which I did). More weeks go by without Dave getting back to me.

I then decide to contact the manufacturer to get results. Company name is Gadgetuniverse/AROA Marketing 12621 Encinitas Ave Sylmar, CA 818-833-4860. I was told that Rene Suarez would look into it and get back to me in a day - HE NEVER CALLED ME.

So I had a Lawyer take over, he emails and called DAVE LONG and gets no response! The Lawyer talks to two people at AROA Marketing, a DAVID GALVAN and JAMES CASCARELL. They contact DAVE asking him to look into it. Dave tells one of them he has no record, so again, I provide the documents to Mr. Galvan, because he said with the proper info he could make an exchange happen. After no one getting back to the Lawyer, he notifies David Galvan we will file paperwork in small claims shortly.

WE NEVER HEAR BACK FROM THEM! This was in May/07. After finding out the cost to file and that Steinhauser may not even bother with the courts, I decided to pass on the whole thing.

Bottom line folks - these people don't give a damn about the customer.

I am contacting the BBB in OK and will notify members of the (NAWCC) National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors not to do business with either of these companies. I recommend you do the same.
