Package Quoted at $109 Monthly Became Over $400 in Bills

A gentleman came to my door asking me how much I pay for net and cable services as a package deal. I said a little over a hundred dollars a month. He said that he could do better, that I could get Dish Network, a BellSouth home phone and also DSL for around $109 a month. That was about the same as what I was paying, except I have a cell phone and not a home phone.

So I called and cancelled my net and Charter cable. The gentleman told me I would be able to try the service the first month for free and not be obligated to buy anything. About a week after I had this hooked up, I received 3 separate bills. The first one was over $200 for the home phone. I received 2 months' worth of bills from Dish Network and was told I had to pay in advance. Then I got another bill for the net, which was $117.45. So instead of getting the deal he said I would, I am stuck in the hole now, paying over $400 for the first month.

I didn't get anything free. Plus I have been on the phone with BellSouth today for over an hour just trying to speak to someone to get this service disconnected. The operators are rude, and I will never use BellSouth or Dish Network again. It's sad they feel they have to lie to hard-working customers to get them to hook up their services.

I will slam the door on anyone who tries to sell me any cable or telephone services. Those people are liars and cheats and shouldn't be allowed to do that to people. I don't have money for groceries this week because I don't want to ruin my credit, so I am paying the bills. It is sad they are allowed to rip off innocent customers like this.
