Stop4Camera
Uses illegal tie-in sales

Electronics and household app.

I ordered a Nikon D2X camera from Stop4Camera. A high pressure salesman insisted that I needed an extremely overpriced extended warantee which I refused. After checking, he said the camera was in stock and would be shipped the next business day. I would receive a confirmation email of the order within minutes and another with tracking number info when the camera was shipped.

The next day, I still had not received the confirmation number. I called customer service which said the salesman wrote the wrong email address down and corrected it. The lady said I would receive the tracking number email when the item confirmed to be in stock shipped the next day. I quickly received the order number in the confirmation email.

The next day after not receiving the shipping tracking number, I again called and this time talked to a man in customer service. He said the camera was not in stock and had been out of stock for some time. He said a shipment of cameras were due in to the warehouse in no longer than two weeks.

I called two weeks later and was informed that there was no cameras and that there would never be any in the forseeable future. The man claimed that there was a problem at Nikon and that Nikon was not sending any of the cameras out to anyone. He said that I should quickly buy one elsewhere before everyone ran out of it.

Later I contacted Stop4Camera inquiring as a new customer. After agreeing that their extremely high priced extended warantee was a good idea, was told that there were many cameras in stock and that there was no problem of a shortage.

Of course I declined the sale and decided to post the illegal tie-in sale attempt here.
