Look out for the hard sell, and they won't sell!

Sonic Cameras must have a deal with pricingdepot.com they show 5000 positve experiences for Sonic Cameras but when I post a negative experience it doesn't show!

I purchase the NIKON D80 package with the NIKKOR 18-135 lens package online. After finishing the transaction online I too was e-mailed that I needed to contact customer service for security purposes. I called and was told that the camera did not come with a battery, told them theirs was over priced no thanks. Was told that I needed another lens in addition to the 18-135mm, told them no thanks. Was told I would need high speed memory for the camera and they had a special of 2 4GB for $100. So I said ok. Total was $749.00.

Much more than the advertised price of $349.00 but I upgraded the lens and bought memory and it was still a good deal. The rep was polite, said thank you enjoy your camera and that was it. I went ahead and bought all the other accessories at fair prices elsewhere and anxiously awaited the camera. The next day I received an e-mail stating that the camera was on back order and my order was cancelled.

Immediately I knew that I had not ordered enough accessories, they weren't making enough $ so they cancelled. I called as a new customer and ordered the same package, asked if it was all in stock because I needed it quickly and they said yes, in stock no problem! I then told them who I was about my previous order and they hung up on me! That was two weeks ago and they are still advertising the same deal, what a scam!

I ordered the same camera from ebay with battery and charger plus all necessary accessories for $850.00 no hard sell no problems the camera arrived in two days and worked perfectly. If I had ordered every thing needed from Sonic Cameras the total would have been $1,147.00! How do you get from their advertised price of $349.00 to $1,147.00? A difference of $798.00!!

Take my advice, do not order from sonic cameras!!!

I will definitely check the "complaint" before making any purchase in the future.
