I had several dealing with these barbarian idiots, until I did one very simple thing - I wrote a cease and desist letter exercising my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This Act states that if you write to a collection company and tell them you will not be paying them anything and that you will deal ONLY with the original creditor, they (the collection company - CAMCO in this case) may no longer contact you in any fashion, or you can sue them for defamation of credit and / or harrassment under the Fair Credit Act.

Make certain to send the letter certified signature return receipt so that you have proof they received it. I did this, and I have never heard from the losers again.

Please do this for your own peace of mind and to show these financial predators that they are NOT going to win.
