Club Z! In-home Tutoring Services
Erik Martinez, Patricia Holloway The company asks you to pay for your own fingerprints, promises work and doesn't deliver anything - when confronted, no one takes responsibility

Education & Science

I was excited to find an ad on careerbuilder.com for a part-time tutoring opportunity. It sounded so appealing...$40/hr, lots of students (i.E. More students = more hours = more $ earned), an established company (they claim to be the ".. The world's largest one-on-one tutoring program.") I contacted them and began the process of sending my resume, providing my educational credentials, getting fingerprints done. I was told that I had to pay for my own fingerprinting but was promised that there's plenty of work, so I figured I'd make up the $ fast.in addition, the hourly wage was not $40 (as advertised in the ad), it was $20, which I agreed to since I figured $20 is better than $0.

After I was set up as a tutor, I was told that there are no students to be tutored. After a few weeks of me inquiring for work, I was sent information on 2 students who needed assessment only. That didn't work out. I tried to contact the parents, one didn't have a proper phone # and the other wasn't aware of the company's rules (of having a parent present at ALL times during tutoring or assessment) and decided it wasn't going to work out for him since he had to work. That lead me to believe that, most probably, the company lacked organization. Not only they didn't have updated information on potential clients, but these parents were not informed of company's rules. After a few weeks, nothing was resolved and I was told there are no students at this time. Needless to say, I was frustrated, as I had paid for fingerprints out of my own pocket and nothing was done to ensure work for me, as initially promised/advertised.

I would recommend to anyone out there who is considering signing up with Club Z! As a tutor, to not waste their time. They have no responsibility for anything, are rude when questioned and will not fulfill their advertised promises. Not only that I wasted my "investment" but completely wasted my time going through the process of approval as a tutor. If you still want to be hired as a tutor, go through a different company to not be let down.
