A man from UPS came to my house last week to pick up my receiver and DVR from when I had Direct TV service. They didn't call me or give any sort of notice. It was a complete surprise. He said he couldn't wait for me to get it ready so he left and said he'd be back on Monday to pick it up.

Ok...

So I pull it all out and put it in the box it came in. He came back Monday just like he said, and I gave it to him. Two days ago, I get the box back in the mail, with no note or anything.

Now I have an email saying I owe them $300 for not returning their DVR and an additional $300 for canceling my service before my contract expired...

First of all. I gave them the dvr! They sent it back!

Second of all, I didn't cancel my service. I CALLED them and told them that I moved and that I wanted to transfer my service to my new house. They acknowledged my request and said they'd send somebody, and nobody came. Did they really expect me to keep paying for their service when they won't come and set it up?!

Direct TV has done nothing but screw me ever since I signed up with them. I wrote before about how they charged me 3 months in advanced and caused me to go negative in my bank account, now this.

Today I'm looking at my bank account online and I see that they've gone ahead and taken $311.27 out of my bank account almost a year after I stopped allowing them to make automatic payments off of my debit card number.

I cannot pay rent on my house now because of this. They waited until I could be caught completely off gaurd to do this. I even called them and told them I never wanted to cancel my account, and they basically told me "Too bad" and took what they could because they knew they could get away with it.
