Ncogroup... Ripoffs & harassing!

I have been contcted by NCO numerous times in the last couple of weeks concerning a Student Loan I had 10 years ago. I had already been paying this student loan to another debt collection company, I missed 1 payment and now aparently NCO has aquired it. I have never recieved anything by mail from this company stating how much I still owe on this loan. I have sent a validation letter but they still keep contacting me at work and on my cell phone.

The people at NCO are rude and very unprofessional! They have even gone as far as telling another co-worker of mine what they were calling for. My understanding is that they are not allowed to disuss this debt with anyone but me!

I just had another call from them today stating that they were with the Department of Education and they wanted to know specific information about me to start a wage garnishment against me... So this had be a little freaked out. When she asked who she was taking to I told her it was me and she hung up. I called the number back from the caller ID and sure enough it was NCO. Are they allowed to state that they are from the department of education?

I have talked to the actual department of education and can make the payments directly to them.

Does anyone have any other ideas on how I can get these scumbags to quit calling me over this. I am at my whits end!
