NCO Financial Systems
Took series of check numbers from me to "repay" student loan. First, then Buffalo

I received a letter from NCO Financial Systems, Inc. The letter had all of my personal information and such about a student loan that I had defaulted on and said "SEND NO CORRESPONDENCE TO THE U.S. Department of education regarding this matter, use the contact information for nco financial systems, inc. Listed below". It should have been a red flag.

Anyways, I contacted them and they had me give them a series of checks payable to them for $50 a piece. The first check cleared, the second check cleared, and I received a letter from the Dept of Education asking me to call them (dept of ed) to make payment arrangements or my Federal Disability check would be garnished for a certain percentage. I had already had two checks clear through NCO and the U.S. Department of Education was telling me that they have no documentation of any payments made towards the repayment of this Federal Debt.

So, I made arrangements with the U.S. Dept of Education as far as payments, and as soon as I hung up with them, I contacted my "representative" at NCO to let them know what had occured and that they were to cancel any information that they had about me and stop withdrawl of the "issued checks". Needless to say, they have since cashed two more checks and of course the U.S. Dept. Of Ed. Has no record of these payments ever being made. So far that is $200 that will never make it to the Dept. Of Education towards my loan repayment.
