Reported false delinqincy to credit bureaus, created financial mess for us

This company report me to the bureaus for a late house payment that I made without even notifying me. Meanwhile I'm buying my wife her dream car that my hard work for clean credit is allowing me to do. We take the car home. A week later I had to endure the embarrasment of returning the car because "No one will finance you for a car if you can't even make your house payment." I won't even tell you how my (8 months pregnant at the time) wife felt.
I called ASC to find out what the problem was and after being hung up on several times finally got someone to tell me I was delinquent on a house payment. I pulled my bank records online and read the check number and date it was cashed by ASC. They showed "no record of it."
I was finally able to buy the car with a lettter admitting an error on thier part. Oh yeah, they never called to tell me the problem was resolved or what happened. I had to find it out all on my own. So at this point a now have a bunch of negative inquiries on my credit report.
Then I get my statement: First mortgage due next month, second not due for three months. We had money specifically set aside for payments, so we took that "extra" money and furnished the nursery for the baby we were expecting.
The next month we start getting the harrassing phone calls and letters talking about foreclosure. They were saying that we were late on the second mortgage and the statement we had was wrong. They never did send a updated statement.
The worst result of what they did by reporting me falsely, was prevent me from refinancing froma $2200 a month house payment to an $1100 a month house payment because of the mess they made of my credit report. And the slap in the face is more harrassing calls, threatening letters, poor customer service, hang ups, holds, and refusals to help as I try to work this out with them.
