My wife got a phone call from first american benefit in aug. Stating that at first she had tax refund money available at $8,000 she need to send the $300 dollars to process it. She called me and told me about it and F.A.B. Had our bank account and routing number all at the same time and they would pull it out and send her the paper work so I called the number my wife gave me and I get this customer service please hold. So I knew it was a scam.

I called the bank and fowarned them that this was going to take place. They said nothing can be done til it ran thru. Well it ran thru at the same time my house payment went thru so I called the bank and filed a claim put the money back into my account.

I reported it to the state police the officer looked into it and found out the F.A.B. Used a small bank in the middle of nowhere minnesota to have the check deposited. The next month I got a postcard from FIRST CHECK EQUITY from florida saying they where taking out money and then had the same run around.

Now I have a new bank account. The bank still has my old one open to watch it. I have not heard anything yet on it thou. I was told to report it to the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION. I reported it twice and still no acknowledgment from them. So I hope this works and helps others. Report it to the bank immediately. They helped me; they should help you.
