Unreal Labor Charge

I called for a repair on my double door refrig (7 yrs-no warrenty). The tech that arrived spent the best part of an hour sitting on my front porch trying to get his little computer connected to give me an estimate... It had taken him 5 monutes to assertain the problem. He mumbled something that I recognized as "compressor" so when he finally got the estimate of $314.58 I was not too surprised. However after it took him another 5 or so minutes to install an new starter to the compressor (plug in) he presented me with the printout of the bill and left. When I realized that the part was $84.63 with tax but the labor charge was $229.95 I was furious. First I tried "Live chat" with them and got a person who told me the total bill was $229.95... When I quetioned the charge I was presented they said someone would call me. A few days later someone did. This person was rather rude and when I complained of the outrageous Labor charge first she expected me to tell her how the other person on line has come up with her figures and thenshe got snippy and said., Well, what do you think it should be? When I said I didn't know but that the charge was out of line she again repeated her question in a snide manner. I was so angry with her and Sears I indicated I would never buy from them again and hung up. I have no doubt my bill will reflect the original charge which I still think is ridiculous. Charging over $200 for a quick repair is highway robbery... I don't know anyone else that has labor charges near that high. And the fact that the tech didn't break it down for me before he repaired it and the woman who called was rude I am still terribly disappointed in a company I have dealt with for over 40 years.
