Riding Lawn Mower Service - Craftman Lawn Tracto

I had a riding lawn mower repaired in November they carburerator was rebuilt. It was snowing in November and since I only use my mower to cut grass it was never used again until May of when I needed to now cut grass. I went to start it and gas and smoke shot out of the engine. I paid almost $400. For the repair work in 2010 and I called the tech to come look at it and he said that since the warranty work was only 90 days and ran out in March I would need to pay another $400. Because the gas got into the carb and he would need to rebuild it again. It appears it was not put back together right back in November. I did not have the work done as I do not feel I should pay again for something that was not done right in the first place and the mower was never used since parts took so long to get to me and technician did not repair until winter. I just want my mower repaired and it not to cost me again. Can someone help me please?
