Bait and Switch on LG Appliances Backordered 6-8 Weeks

Home Depot advertised LG appliances on sale. We are doing a kitchen remodel, so we purchased a range, dishwasher, refrigerator, and over-the-stove microwave. The store checks inventory and then lets you pick a convenient delivery date, and they are supposed to call the day before to confirm. They did call the day before, but to tell us that the microwave was on backorder, so they were going to hold the whole order until it came in, estimated at 3 weeks.

I called customer service to see if they could still deliver the other 3 appliances, as we do not have any, and was told that now the entire order was on backorder with an estimated delivery of 6 to 8 weeks. I went to the store to talk to the associate who assisted us with the sale to ask what was up. She was very helpful when she said, "Well, you got such a good deal, what do you expect? You will just have to wait."

I contacted the store manager to ask what our options were. He said we could reselect a different brand and pay the difference. That sounds to me like a bait and switch: advertise something you do not even have to get you in the store, then try to sell you up.

A few days later, the manager sent an e-mail telling us how sorry he was and that he had arranged for them to deliver the 3 appliances right away. He told us to expect a call to confirm delivery the next day. It has been a week and we are still waiting for that promised call.
