Poulan Company fleeced customers refusing to sell parts unless purchased with unnecessary kit - the entire carburetor - at an absurd price to get what is not needed

Consumers who purchase a Weed Eater TE 475 will find that when a plastic choke lever breaks off - and it will - they are faced with parts and labor that exceeds the purchase price of the unit. The cost of repairs have been deliberately inflated through a company policy that denies access to consumers of the plastic replacement part. The consumer is forced to purchase the entire carburetor kit. The needed part was designed and engineered to be replaced.

There is no part number for the plastic choke lever that is prone if not designed, to failure.

It is a corporate policy to deny access to this part that would allow consumers to fix the grass trimmer without paying for parts and labor that are only necessary as the result of their corporate position (greed). This position is clearly not in the best interest of the consumer and very much favors Weed Eater's bottom line. Profit is necessary to stay in business however fleecing the customer is another matter entirely.

Calls and emails to Weed Eater have not helped. The recorded message states they are closed at 1:30pm telling callers to call back tomorrow but gives hours they are open in the same message. Some dealers are out of business and some are just closed although Weed Eater tells consumers otherwise. Support is thus far non existent from their specified dealers and any of the companies that are associated with this product. Weed Eater, Poulan, McCulloch or Husqvarna.

Their listed dealers are not dealers or don't work on this issue and the people I finally found can fix it but are not dealers. Weed Eater is a company in turmoil and clueless as to the mess they pose for consumers.
