Jim Peters, Freeport Builders Inc. Sells Real Estate at Inflated Prices, Takes Back Property and Takes Your Down Payment, Refuses to Modify Loan Terms Even With Good Payment History

Be cautious buying anything from this individual. We bought a property in Freeport Illinois at an inflated price back in 2008. The market has changed substantially since then however we continued to make on time monthly payments through the end of 2009. At that time we contacted the seller and requested some modifications to our loan in order to keep the payment terms affordable and provide long-term financing. He refused to contact us and instead hired a lawyer to start foreclosure proceedings. He acts like most of the aggressive banks that have ruined our country. Ungrateful for receiving a premium price on the property he has not problem stealing our down payment and the equity from our monthly payments, not to mention some of the repairs we have done to the properties. Beware of this individual and do not buy anything from him without getting it titled in your name. He failed to record a legal agreement showing we are the property owners which is real estate fraud.
