Tried to scam me into spending $750 for unnecessary work, paid $228 for nothing

Our roommate named me at the office to inform me a water-pipe broke in my own yard. I named ABC plumbing to repair it. They stated the price for that estimation could be $79 and that I decided. Once the plumber came he named me and stated that there is a little trickle in the primary water point and he had a need to search a to check on it also it could be another $149. He then named and stated that the little leak had miraculously vanished along with a little bit of mud may have blocked the trickle. He desired to cost me another $250 to pressurize the water point and discover this trickle. He explained after anything could be completed it'd run-around $750. This did not have something related to the damaged gardening tube that I'd named them to repair. I told him I'd obtain a minute viewpoint and he attempted to speak me into performing the large work stating how risky it had been. He never did repair the damaged tube and billed me $228. I'd another plumber repair the damaged tube for $50 and stated he could not find any leaks about the main-line. Additionally, my roommate overheard the plumber inform somebody on his telephone they have no idea something about plumbing. After I named ABC Plumbing to go over the statement, they stated the dog owner wouldn't talk to me about the telephone and that I might create a notice basically needed.
