Expo Home Design - Division Of Home Depot In Westwood, CA Fraudulent Inspection to not make good on warranty

Purchased a top of the line hardwood floor from Expo/Home Depot for thousands of dollars.installer came out, measured and inspected room. Floor was installed and within 3 months the boards started to curve upwards. Called Expo.installer came out and said it was our fault, and we completed every repair asked, all at our expense. Floor boards curved upwards again, so we called Customer Service.

They had an independent inspector, paid by Home Depot, come to determine source of problem. He wrote that the installation had been faulty - not enough done to prevent moisture from the concrete pad underneath wood floor. Expo/Home Depot begged us to have another inspection since their installer (a subcontractor of Home Depot) was asking for an appeal. He apparently would have had to at least partially pay us, not just Home Depot/Expo. We agreed, trying to be fair and helpful (stupid, actually).

Second inspector did a very brief inspection, mis-identified the type of floor we had and the type of installation done on the new report, and stated that the problem was ours due to our sprinklers, which are nowhere near this wood floor. We are now being offered 20% off the purchase price of a new floor purchase from Expo as compensation. The first inspection faulting the installation has been completely disregarded. We are not getting return phone calls now. Who can afford a lawyer these days? It looks like we need one.
