American Home Shield - Service Master
Collects monthly appliance insurance and then sends inferior service techs, collects $50. And tells you they cant fix the problem

Not sure what to say except i have been duped AGAIN! I was given American Home Shield by insurance agent and told they will warrant appliances. I pay over $600 per year... For nothing! Shame on me, at least 5-6 times I have called them with appliance issues. Each time they sent someone out and told me that they don't cover this aspect of the appliance problem. They collect $55.00 for the service call and leave. I have to fix it out of my own pocket plus pay the fifty dollar charge.

I dropped them, but, they called back and told me they fixed the problems and have new management etc. And I sign up and get F...

I tried them one last time... Now, my washer went. I called on a Friday am, they sent a service co. Out on a Monday end of day... Told me they WILL warrant the part and said they don't have it and will order it. They left without fixing a thing. I have not heard from them now for ten days, I keep calling and finally got someone who told me it will take 3-4 weeks just top get the part?

I can't even call another service company because the AHS service dept. Refuses to tell me the name of the part. I can't even get anyone on the phone. I tried to call AHS 4 times, they keep you on a recorded hold at least 30 minutes, hoping you will drop the call. Finally after 39 minutes (I need my head examined) I got a live person and they told me there is nothing they can (will) do. And that they have no control over the company they sent and how long it will take. I read that this is a common strategy on other reports about AHS. I found out that Service master also owns TERMINEX a major rippoff company. You would think the government would outlaw such practices.

Can anyone recommend another company. Has anyone else had problems with Service Master, Terminex or American Home Shield. Is there anything to stop these practices?

Be smart and find a better more fair company for your warranties!
