Carpet Mills HORRIBLE SVC - Damaged our Wall Never calls Back

I am so sorry that we had not read the reviews on this website prior to placing an order with Carpet Mills of America in Gilbert, AZ - especially the review by CAM dated November. This store is cleverly placed in a nice, newer shopping area in Gilbert, AZ, where all the businesses are well known and have good reputations. We just assumed that it was also a reputable business when we went in to purchase flooring for our home.

The sales experience was good and everything seemed fine, we paid 1/2 down just as the other reviewer did.

I'm going to shorten my story by saying that nearly everything that happened to the other reviewer (Cam) happened to us, except the carpet installer damaged a wall in a our home - we're not talking about a little scratch or a tiny hole - I mean it looked as though someone had forcefully tried to shove a toaster through the wall.

We got the same runaround, broken promises and missed appointments to have someone come out and take a look at the damage so they could repair. No one ever called back, and no one ever showed up for any of the three appointments that they made to come look at the damage. No phone call to reschedule, no phone call to explain why no one came — nothing! Unbelievable!
We are now getting quotes from drywall companies to come out and repair the wall for hundreds of dollars and we're going to have to pay the charges ourselves b/c we can't get these people to take any responsibility for the damage their installer caused!

I cannot believe a company can get away with this in this day and age! They are just downright crooks! The better business bureau has 56 complaints on file in the past 36 months for the four Carpet Mills stores that this same guy owns in the Phoenix area — one of them being this store in Gilbert, AZ.

I just wish I had know this before stepping foot in that store! It just goes to show that you should NEVER make a purchase without doing your homework. Just because the store looks nice and seems to be reputable does not mean a thing. Wow, have we learned a valuable lesson.

Stay away from this store. Don't be fooled by the nice displays and the facade of a nice shopping area. Don't let the salesperson trick you with promises of professional installation and "satisfaction guaranteed." It's a scam!
