They will not pay for damage their workers create while installing carpet

We purchased carpet several weeks back and were very pleased by our sales man and felt confident they would do a nice job.

The day of installation, the men who installed our carpet spoke no english and made a mess in our home. One of them spilled floor cleaner all down our stairs and continued to step through it until I cleaned it up. It is still all over the wall that leads to the downstairs.

After the installation was over, the next day when the sunlight lit up our home, there were dirty hand/fingerprints all over the walls in the 2 rooms they installed the carpet. One of the base boards is completely damaged, and is need of replacement.

Several phone calls and chasing down management, they come and look at the damage and access $200 in damage has been caused (2 cans of paint, replacement of base boards). Our salesman also informed us this is not the only home damaged by this work crew. I call several days later after not hearing from our salesman, only to be told we were now entitled to $50.

I was then told by the "district manager/owner" that they have no corporate office and I was only recieving $50, due to my not buying more expensive carpet. (We spent $1000 on 2 rooms for a townhome, I feel this is more than appropriate).
