Furniture never delivered

I purchased 4 barstools (total was almost $700 for all 4) from City Furniture on July 23. My salesman promised delivery on Wednesday, July 26.instead of getting the barstools that day, I got a voicemail message from "customer service" saying that I'm not getting the delivery until Friday, July 28.

I called customer service that day (Wednesday) and I was told that the barstools are coming from overseas and that they are not scheduled to come until Saturday, July 29. (based on the original voicemail, I almost took Friday off again to wait for the delivery - only to receive another message saying that the barstools are not coming in until Saturday!)

I called my salesman and left him messages a couple of times (on Thursday and Friday). He never called me back. I called the store on Saturday morning. I expressed my frustration to the lady on the other line so she tracked him down for me. I finally got him on the phone! He said that he was off for a couple of days as an excuse for not returning my calls. Then he (AGAIN) promised to get it delivered on Sunday, July 30th. We cancelled all our plans for Sunday afternoon.

Well, come Sunday - I got another voicemail message from "customer service" saying that the barstools are out of stock and won't be delivered that day. I called customer service back and was told that I am scheduled for August 1st, Tuesday delivery.

Well that is today. I called City Furniture customer service to make sure that the delivery is coming today. Only to be told that their system shows that I spoke to someone yesterday and that the barstools are still not in the store! The best part is that I am scheduled for Friday delivery (August 4th!) The truth is: no one called me yesterday to advise me of this change! I tried to reach my salesman again but he's unavailable. After a lenghty explanation to the operator, she got a manager to call me back. I spoke to a manager in the store only to be given a bunch of excuses all over again.

This is not the kind of salesman & customer service that I expect when I'm paying almost $700 for 4 barstools!
I cancelled my order and requested a refund of my money. I hope that they will actually refund my money... Not next year but sometime soon. I will update this post once I actually receive my refund.

Anyway, I hope my experience will make people think twice before buying from this place. Beware of this this place! Thank you.
