Cascade Falls Apartments At Carlsbad Village
Cascade Falls Apartments We left apartment due to health concern (mold) and they are trying to pursue lease breakage fee

Construction & Repair

In October my fiancee and myself moved into an apartment managed by the named company. Within the next few weeks we noticed an increasing moldy type smell by the end of November my fiancee was vomiting from the smell. We attempted to have a maintenance person inspect the place. The maintenance person actually admitted to a smell in the apartment but "felt" it wasn't mold, Later they placed a de-humidier in the apartment which did nothing but make noise and leak all over the carpet. We then went to the front office to request a different apartment and they half-heartedly pointed us to other units on a map.

They also said that we couldn't view the location in order to inspect it for moldy smell as well.in the beginning of December we decided to leave at the end of the month. We tried to resolve the situation peacefully by giving them 20 days notice and we paid for the full month of December, we had to leave the unit on December 13 thus making it a " 1280 a month storage unit " for the rest of December.

Despite our best attempt to resolve this peacefully (AND the fact we DID NOT sign the 30day notice to vacate in order to avoid being trapped into a lease breakage fee) they have pursued us for lease breakage fee of over $1000 dollars, they also enlisted Southwest Recovery (in El Cajon California) to pursue the fee less than 3 weeks after the first letter.

Cascade falls has demonstrated that they do not care about the public health of those who reside in their apartments and are unwilling to provide customer service or hold an ethical standard of business.
