Ripoff 85 year old

My 85 year old mother-in-law lived in Amarilo, Tx.in May She fell very ill and was unable to be alone. We moved her to Oklahoma to live with us so she could be taken care of. We sold her home in July. We called and cancelled the service and was told there was no problem.

We closed her checking account and started getting letters saying she still had to pay. Then we were told to write a letter stating why she no longer needed the service. (which we did) They basically told us she would have to pay regardless! We were told if she wasn't in a nursing home (if she was, WE had to produce documentation that she was) she would have to pay.

After numerous phone calls, I requested a signed copy of the contract with her signature on it. To this day I have not received it.

I would really like to know how they monitor a service that has no phone line as it was disconnected! She will not pay a single cent more to these people!
