Ripoff How much are they really to sell for Door To Doo

A door to door sales man came to our door and showed us the 'Kirby G six' very nice machine. So my husband got bored and went to take a shower and so I bought one. I got permission of course. But then we were talking about it and the 1800.00 that we were going to be paying for it seemed stupid after thinking about it. So I called the guy back and he had only got a few blocks from the house, and he said well how much would you give me for it? I told him nothing that we just decided that we just couldn't afford it. He said well how about I take $1000.00 off the price, if you pay me cash I will sell it to you for 800.00. So my husband said ok. And the guy tore up our contract, for the 1800.00 and we gave him 800.00 instead (in a check form made out to Kirby.)

My problem is there is no way that this should be right. To start out selling this product for 1000.00 more and come down that much. That just tells you that Kirby is a rip-off company. They must get these in bulk for $200.00 each. I bought it back then b/c I had just gave 600.00 for a different kind of vacuum, one a year and a few months before and it broke and my grandma said she had had her kirby for 20 years and it still was working great. I have had my kirby now for several years and it still works great. But I would never tell anyone to buy one from any door sells man. I tell everyone I know that act interested in the vacuum and tell them you just cant afford that much. They will come down to what you want to spend.

That is so stupid. They have a good product they dont have to try and make 1000.00 off of every customer. Good products sell them selves. You dont have to have a high GPP to make a living. You only need volume and good customer service is the #1 way to make it in the retail industry. If you sell to one person and treat the fair and honest, they will turn around and tell all there friends. But in the same turn if you jack with someone they will tell the world.
