Repair service

I think it is quite sad that I have to be without TV service for 10 DAYS because nobody can get here UNTIL August 26. I talked to 2 representatives yesterday, and neither one of them could help me; hence, the repair service. Is this because I live in a relatively small town in Louisiana, and there are NO local repairmen? Can something be done about this?
