Continuous jams and poor or non-existent product support - HP Officejet 8500 Pro

Purchased a HP Officejet Pro 8500 All in One printer. Since purchase it has had problems with carriage and paper feed jams. On review of the web there are many many others with similar problems. Contacting HP Service and was told they don't repair or service the printer, and suggested I buy another one.

Service is not even US based, some foreign person trying to speak english.

I have historically been loyal to HP as the Laser Printers have always been great, even the older OfficeJets worked for years. This is made in China and has had problems for day one, and now just doesn't work.
