HP now extorting Customers ton buy software support - HP Pavilion Elite HPE

All I wanted was to submit a claim on a defective Blu-Ray Burner. I spent 4 hours today being transferred from department to department each one trying to tell me it wasn't their respobsibility. They remote connected to my computer then told me I had software issues as well as hardware issues and I would have to buy additional software and Hardware support for $299 per 3 years, in order for them to honor a product under warranty. Then I found out HP's Hardware tech had transfered me to a 3ird party tech support that wasn't even a part of HP. This guy tried to sell me additional tech support as well as an updated new copy of Windows 7. Don't let them put you in the transfer circle they use. It will take all day and chances are you can buy the part at Best Buy or Egghead for less money than you will waste in time with these guys. You have to give each person they transfer you to the same information each time as well. I think you can take your unit to Best Buy Geek Squad or Home Depot Computer repair service for less money. I think that is how they are supplementing th lower costs of their Desktopss and Laptops. You get a cheaper price on the initial sale but they make up for it in service and Tech Support Charges.
