Sony
Utally rude rep

Computers & Services

I had just bought a PSP and had problems getting an internet connection through my wireless router which is an advertised feature of the system. I called Sony for help but there was no prompt to speak to a human but I happened to know 0 works most of the time.

I would have been better not talking to anyone because after only 2 minutes the rep had become very impatient and rude with me. She claimed that I was not following her instructions when in fact she was not giving me correct instructions and had to pause and read something before giving further direction. Now the PSP is not that complicated and being an A certified tech myself I know how to troubleshoot technology but this rep was unbelievably condescending and I didn't do anything to provoke her.

After she kept arguing with me instead of helping me I asked for a supervisor which I only got after yelling for one. The sup gave me some better help but I"m not confident he would actually take any disciplinary action against the previous rep.

What's even more surprising is that this rep was based in North America but I would have gladly spoken to someone based in India since at least they are polite and don't have a chip on their shoulder from the get-go.

Sony as a whole is in big trouble and I know they are trying to restructure but customer service is yet another area they are failing in and that is becoming more important to companies these days.

In the end I solved the problem myself and the call to Sony was very stressful and a waste of my time.
