Purchase of Blue ray

I rented a blu ray dvd from blockbuster. I returned the DVD a bit late (20 days) and according to their small print terms I now own the DVD. I didn't go to Blockbuster to purchase a DVD I went there to RENT therefore I feel scammed into paying for something i only wanted to rent. This is awful business practice and I will never go to blockbuster again. I was never explained this prior to renting the DVD, in fact I was told don't worry you have a grace period to return the DVD!!!
