Kia has recalled a part on my car that i was not aware of and the car broke down and now Kia won't help to pay for towing expences to take the car to them to be fixed. Merriville Indiana

One day as I was picking up my children from school and my Kia would not restart. After having a retired mechanic tow the car home, we started the process of elimination of what the problem could be. The only thing we new for sure was that the fuel pump was not getting power to it. So we started replacing the parts of the fuel system to determine the problem and came to the conclusion that our problem was in the fuel pump wire harness.

I procesded to contact the Kia corporation to find out if there was any warranty on the car. Since i just brought the car at a used car lot 7 months before this, i was not aware of any warranty or recalls. Well, at this point they told me that there were 4 different recalls on my car that needed to be done and that one of them was the fuel pump wire harness.

At this point I was amazed to discover that they would not do anything to rectify the fact that their defective part and failure to perform the necessary recalls. Although they did say they would perform the realls free of charge if i brought the car to them.

UNFORTUNATELY, I am a single mother who is struggling just to get myself through college right now and can not afford to pay the hefty tow bill to have it towed to my nearest Kia dealership which happens to be an 1 1/2 to 2 hours away from where the car has been sitting now for the last month, since they told me that i was not allowed to tamper with the recalled parts because they were recalled and they are required to do the work. So now i am left without a car. How does Kia suppose I will be able to transport me and my daughter both to school and to our other necessities like grocery shopping or doctor's appointments. I guess that because i don't have tons of money that i'm suppose to just suffer without these things, right?

As I tried to calmly explain everything to the company. I was made to feel belittled by the disrespectful clientel, who even managed to make me start crying from his inappropiate behavior, for example, he told me to get over it, that they would not help me and that i was stupid becuase i was female and that he was not going to waste his time on me.

Since when did our own greediness make us so cold hearted and hateful that we have forgotten the main goal of all businesses...
