Wynns Extended Care Warrenty

I have had battles with Wynn's for over a year. I have had some items covered and some not. That's the nature of the game we all play. Recently, I took my vehicle in to the Local Dodge dealer. I had a strange noise. I called the service contract in advance as is required, explained my problem and asked if I needed to take my vehicle to a new shop or the shop which had done the previous repairs. I was not sure as it had been just 10 months but 12500 miles since the last repair and I knew it was related. I was told to get it in to my local shop as driving the vehicle any further would possibly void the warrenty.

I brought the durango to the shop and then OK'd the shop to diagnose the engine as requested by Wynn's. When I got to the shop, the vehicle was driven at first to hear the noise as that is the only time the noise was appearant. I left town for business and when I came home, guess what, warrenty voided! Lucky Wynn's.

It appears when I bought the Durango and service contract, there were a few aftermarket items on the engine. They were some sort of air tube and filter non stock plug wires and hedders. How I am supposed to know if they are stock is beyond me.

Anyway, Wynn's has paid for work on this vehicle three or four times with an adjuster coming out on each occurance (which always takes a week or more) and never complained about aftermarket tubes and what not. Conveniently for them, they can make this decision before repairing the engine.

They also tell me the previous shop did a bad repair job and they are not responsible. I have an email copy of the tear down and diagnosis as received by Wynn's. Now, I am going to cough up the money to get a dead Durango out of the shop, then instead of fixing it, I am hiring an attorney. At this point I don't care if I spend $20,000 to get a $2000.00 engine. I feel that they sold this contract to me illegally if they knew that aftermarket items would void the warrenty and they could pick and choose the time to void it. I have spoken with the dealership that sold me the vehicle and warrenty, I was told I was responsible for knowing what was on my vehicle, even though it was used and I knew nothing about it! The dealership has had numerous cases of trouble with Wynn's over the last year and is going to change to a new company.

You can now take a good guess at what Wynn's Extended Care Service is, it really has nothing to do with cars, it should be on the corner with the Hookers, get get the same thing!

I am off on dissability, guess what, I have a lot of time on my hands. How many people can I contact about Wynn's? How long will it take to keep people from buying Wynn's service contracts? I work with 55,000 people in my company, if I tell them about my experiance, how many people will they tell? Is it really worth not paying up Wynn's?
