Makes a Horrible Gift

I was given a NASCAR ride along experience purchased from livingsocial.com for Christmas. I didn't want this gift and immediately tried to receive a return or refund. The company declined stating that, A. Only the purchasing party can receive a refund, and, B. That had to be requested within five days of purchase.

Given that most folks purchase gifts well before the day they're given, meaning the party receiving the gift will never have the opportunity to let the party giving the gift know that they don't want it in enough time for a refund, this policy is clearly bent toward making sure livingsocial.com and their partners never see these gift vouchers redeemed.

Livingsocial.com clearly encourages purchasing their vouchers as gifts but has a policy that prevents the giftee from being able to receive a refund. This is bad business.
